Buyer - Transformer Service

Hitachi Energy provides services throughout the complete transformer life cycle, from commissioning to recycling, for all brands and kinds of transformers. Our archives contain technical information for more than 30 legacy brands. Our guiding theme is responsiveness. You will be a vital member of the Transformer Service business in the United States. Reporting to the Transformer Service Operations Manager, you will provide support to the wider business by ensuring that all purchasing activities align with corporate policies and procedures.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing materials on behalf of the Business according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule and terms.
  • Initiating purchase orders according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures.
  • Negotiating agreements with main suppliers and periodically renewing price lists, terms and conditions.
  • Supporting the bid and proposal teams by providing relevant market information.
  • Overseeing supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and resolving performance issues.
  • Identifying and qualifying new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists.
  • Aligning supplier orders with customer requirements in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field plus up to 2 years of experience, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the US
  • Demonstrated experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferable.
  • Good coordinating skills to handle multiple logistics responsibilities.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
