POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, Workforce Management collaborates with the Division leadership to deploy strategies for Lifepoint Health's hospital operations. Reporting relationship will be a direct line report to the AVP of Productivity Management.

As a part of these responsibilities, the Director, Workforce Management is responsible for developing and implementing the labor management strategic plan within this region/market of facilities and ensuring it is in alignment with Lifepoint Health's overall approach to efficiency improvement, processes, tools and resources capable of driving sustainable improvement in the flow, utilization and efficiency services and staff. With the assistance of the Division leadership team and facility leadership team, the Director Productivity Management will be responsible for maintaining oversight and approval of all productivity management plans, annual budget process, compliance with corporate policy and procedures, and promoting teamwork to assist in the overall performance/process improvement for the Division facilities.

  • Provides direct leadership, oversight, and accountability for the operational effectiveness of staffing, FTE and productivity management for the Division and at the facility level.
  • In conjunction with the AVP, Productivity Management, Division leadership, develops the annual productivity management strategic plan for the Division.
  • In conjunction with the Division leadership team, utilizes measurement tools to track and trend operational efficiency and financial performance.
  • Executes the strategic plan for staffing, FTE budgeting and productivity management at the group and facility level.
  • Works collaboratively with Division and facility leaders to develop process improvement and labor management standards, programs and controls followed by execution and sustainability of standards.
  • Establish, lead and manage staffing/productivity management support, including specific productivity goals to be accomplished, and directs the activities of the group aimed toward meeting those strategic goals based upon the needs of the business and in accordance and alignment with the division strategy.
  • Provides direction and manages group to ensure standardization and consistency across group; Communicating routinely with Division leadership to ensure alignment across organization.
  • Provides training at the department level for LaborLytics, Scheduling, general labor management best practices and report interpretation.
  • Assists in the maintenance of associated infrastructure to ensure that accurate and current data is available in productivity-based tools.
  • To the extent they exist, manages direct reports in a remote and matrix environment.
  • Effectively negotiates and balances the needs of group and facility operations.
  • Ensures that variations to labor standards are analyzed and escalated to leadership.
  • Drives business decisions using analytics.
  • Develops a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Develop the Division's best practices around staffing of critical clinical and business operations.
  • Communicates timely and effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Works with Division leadership to adjust strategies to respond to changing business needs.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree required

Experience: 3-5 years of related hospital operations or labor management experience.

Willing to travel approximately 10-20% of the time.
