As the maintenance technician, you will maintain the mechanical, chemical, refrigeration, and electrical systems- as designated by work order priorities or day to day activities.

What You'll Do

As the maintenance technician, you will maintain the mechanical, chemical, refrigeration, and electrical systems- as designated by work order priorities or day to day activities. You will be responsible for s upporting theplant initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility (such as HRO). Other duties will include:

  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations
  • Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values
  • Contribute to training the production team on autonomous maintenance tasks
  • Understands and uses all safety equipment, including arc flash, machinery and tool guards and PPE
  • Maintain and support daily work orders and preventative maintenance tasks through plant CMMS system
  • Maintain the mechanical, chemical, refrigeration, and electrical systems throughout the plant to support production operations
  • Uses hand and portable powered tools in daily activities
  • Proficient in the use of machine shop measurement tools and devices, including but not limited to tape measures, rulers, callipers, micrometres, dial indicators, protractors, squares, and bore gauges
  • Works from heights using ladders, platforms, or man-lifts with proper PPE and Fall-Protection

What We're Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Trade School or applicable Military Training preferred
  • 5+ years experience in a maintenance capacity required
  • Must be able to work the off shift - training may be on day shift
  • Knowledge of electrical systems including basic repair and troubleshooting of single phase and 3 phase circuits and AC/DC circuitry
  • Knowledge of welding tools including TIG, GMAW, SMAW desired
  • Ability to keep accurate records both written and electronically
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
