Delve Underground is looking for an influential technical professional to help grow our Nashville office and business presence across Tennessee. An entrepreneurial spirit is a must for this position. The successful candidate will be expected to build a dynamic and attractive office culture based on a collaborative approach. Building and maintaining relationships with Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County (especially Metro Water Services), Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), and Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) will be an important aspect of this exciting role. The individual chosen for this position will be expected to lead colleagues in implementing our corporate strategic plan on a local and statewide level.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Region Manager in the developing and executing a sales plan to capture work at the local and statewide level.
  • Identify specific project pursuits and collaborate with colleagues in developing and implementing strategies to earn the contracts.
  • Lead and/or facilitate the sales process on pursuits starting with positioning prior to RFP, during proposal phase, through the interview with the client.
  • Manage the operations of the Nashville office with an emphasis on facilitating the sharing of staff resources and project work with other offices.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process, including the annual operations meeting.
  • Assist the Region Manager with developing a staffing plan including the recruitment of new hires.
  • Serve as a project manager on key contracts earned by the Nashville office.
  • Ensure project teams are meeting submittal deadlines within budget.
  • Verify project teams are adhering to the corporate QA/QC policy.
  • Manage project control staff, as required for project reporting and invoicing.

Qualifications:

  • Professional engineer or geologist licensed in the State of Tennessee with 12 to 20 years of work experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or geology; master's degree in these or related fields of study are considered an asset
  • Proven ability to earn work with Metro Water Services, TDOT and TVA
  • Minimum of five years of experience managing projects for Metro Water Services, TN DOT, and TVA; example project types can include underground utility infrastructure (water and sewer), solving highway geohazards (slope failures and rock fall mitigation), dams (new and rehab), and other heavy infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with tunneling and trenchless construction is considered a plus
  • Established reputation and active involvement within local professional societies (i.e. ASCE, ACEC, AWWA, etc.)
