Lipscomb Academy Middle School is looking for a high energy, innovative teacher who desires to work in an intentionally Christian school with a focus on collaborative and student-centered learning. The teacher must have at least an undergraduate degree in education with a certification that covers Middle School and/or Science. The position routinely requires team work and cooperation with numerous individuals and groups. Each grade level works together as a team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with the department chair and principal to create an annual curriculum calendar for Middle School Science.
• Design comprehensive unit plans. Create weekly lesson plans based on well researched best practices.
• Employ effective classroom management skills.
• Differentiate instruction as appropriate.
• Use student collaboration in an effective way.
• Implement strategies that develop critical thinking skills. Employ a learner-centered approach to instruction.
• Navigate the school's learning management systems and be proficient in relevant instructional technology.
• Develop positive relationships with students.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
• Attend all faculty events and activities as required in the faculty handbook
