The position of the Quality Specialist is responsible for providing leadership and technical assistance to Production by aggressively managing quality systems, instilling quality awareness and commitment, and performing fact-based assessments/audits of manufacturing operations. The Quality Specialist will ensure that all records, procedures, processes, packaging and equipment are in compliance with all Federal, State and other regulatory requirements. The Quality Specialist reports to the Quality Systems Manager. The Quality Systems Manager reports to the Factory Director.

Qualifications

Incumbent Requirements:

  1. Technical Bachelor's degree (Food Science, Biology or Chemistry) required
  2. Minimum of 3 years experience in a food-manufacturing environment
  3. Excellent PC skills with MS Office Products
  4. Excellent knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO 22000, ISO 9001)
  5. Experience with HACCP and food safety standards
  6. Experience with a sensory program
  7. Experience with Internal Audits
  8. Experience with plant trials and projects
  9. Experience with plant sanitation programs
